Privacy Notice

This policy notice outlines procedures operated by Montgomery Irwin Architects LTD. (MI) as a Data Controller with regard to the collection, storage and sharing of personal data as required by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), 25 May 2018. Personal data is defined as data from which a living person can be identified.

  • Where it is necessary for the purposes of our legitimate business interests to run a successful architecture and design studio, and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests

 We may also use your Personal Data in the following situations, which are likely to be rare:

  • Where we need to protect your interests (or someone else’s interests).

  • Where it is needed in the public interest.

What we do with the information we have

MI will process data given to us that falls within the contractual relationship with any given client, project, contractor or supplier. This data will be limited to that deemed strictly necessary.

 Ways in which personal data may be retained and shared through the duration of a project may typically include:

  • Planning Applications

  • Building Control Applications

  • The tender process

  • Inquiries with product suppliers

  • Inquiries with statutory service providers

How we store your information

Your information is securely stored at our offices at 7-9 Stone Row, Coleraine, BT52 1EP. Electronic data is protected by firewall and password.

We will only retain your Personal Data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which we collected it or for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.
To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the Personal Data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your Personal Data, the purposes for which we process your Personal Data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.
In some circumstances, we may anonymise your Personal Data so that it can no longer be associated with you, in which case we may use such information without further notice to you.

  • Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
